Hello!! Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Jami Bruce. I am the 5th grade Reading teacher. This is such a new and exciting year. The kids get to rotate to four different classes this year. Our main goal outside of learning to to prepare the students for middle school. We really push the students to take on more responsibility. We are so excited to watch your student grow.
The best way to contact any of us is through class dojo or email.
Tips to help in 5th Reading
How to help at home!!
- encourage your child to read at home. They get a daily grade and test grade each 6 weeks from their reading counts goals and test averages. They were given their goals for the year and are in their binders.
- homework is given on Monday and due Wednesday and given again on Wednesday and due Friday
- bell work - a packet is given on Monday and due Friday. They keep this packet with them in the binder. You are more than welcome to go over this with your child each week. This is half of their daily grades.
